The Nastasya Lenormand, known by playing card historians as the Lenormand 1894, is a reproduction of a Russian deck published in 1894. It’s certainly not a typical Lenormand deck, though it features 36 cards; though many of the familiar symbols are present there’s also fun new faces like the Rooster, Lobster, and Cat. Its inserts are also a bit of a mystery: though some clearly represent playing cards, like the joker on the Rider, there are also astrological symbols and even a few oddities like a wheat plant and a little bell. This is a must for anyone interested in the evolution of the Lenormand symbol-set! The deck comes in a traditional bridge size, and also with a storage box. It is available for purchase on my new site, Indie Oracles. What a wonderful piece of cartomantic history!
